Diagnostics
The Diagnostics page provides real-time technical information regarding the internal health and power status of the Fentrica edge device.
Overview
This page is primarily intended for advanced troubleshooting and system monitoring. While much of this data is technical, it is highly valuable when working with Fentrica Support to resolve hardware-related issues or to verify the environment's power stability.
Key Diagnostic Categories
Power Status
This section monitors the primary and secondary power rails of the device.
- Mains Connected: Indicates if the primary AC/DC power supply is active.
- IO Power: Status of the power rail serving the Input/Output terminals.
- Fault Indicators: Monitors for faults in the secondary power source or overloads on specific ports (Auxiliary, Bell, USB1, and USB2).
- Bell Circuit: Shows the physical state of the bell circuit (e.g., "Connected" or "Disconnected").
Charger and Battery
If your device is equipped with a battery backup system, this section provides detailed telemetry from the internal charging circuitry.
- Voltage & Current: Real-time monitoring of input (Vin/Iin), output (Vout), and battery (Vbat/Ibat) levels.
- Battery Health: Displays the Battery Series Resistance (BSR) and validation status to ensure the backup system is ready for a power failure.
- Flow State: Indicates the current state of the charging logic (e.g., Charging, Discharging, or Uninitialized).
When to Use This Page
You may need to consult the Diagnostics page in the following scenarios:
- Support Requests: If you contact Fentrica technical support, they may ask for specific values from this table to diagnose hardware behavior.
- Power Troubleshooting: If you suspect an issue with the local power supply or an overloaded peripheral port.
- Battery Maintenance: To verify that the backup battery is correctly connected and maintaining a healthy charge.
Most of the values on this page are updated in real-time. If you are experiencing intermittent power issues, observing the "Mains Connected" or "Fault" fields can help identify the root cause.
