Logs
The Logs page provides a chronological record of activity and events handled by the Fentrica edge device.
Overview
Logs are essential for auditing and monitoring the daily operations of your building. They provide visibility into who accessed the building, what system changes were made, and any automated actions taken by the controller.
What is Logged?
The device captures a wide range of events, including:
- Access Events: Successful and failed attempts to enter the building via PIN, mobile app, license plate, or access cards.
- Authorization: Detailed records of identity verification and permission checks for Smart Spaces.
- System Changes: Manual adjustments to setpoints, such as climate control temperatures or lighting levels.
Centralized Log Management
While logs can be viewed locally for immediate troubleshooting, the Fentrica edge device automatically synchronizes all log data to the Fentrica Platform.
- Cloud Sync: All activity is pushed to a centralized log management system in the cloud.
- Long-term Retention: The cloud platform provides extended history and advanced search capabilities that go beyond the local device's storage limits.
- Reporting: Use the Fentrica Platform to generate audit reports and analyze trends across multiple devices or sites.
For more information on accessing centralized logs and reports, please refer to the Log Management section of the Fentrica Platform documentation.
