Getting Started

Package Contents

  • baseMINI controller
  • Power supply
  • User manual
  • DIN Rail Mount kit (if ordered)

Functionality

The baseMINI controller is an intelligent central unit acting as the control hub for home and building automation. It connects to Fentrica Cloud where AI-powered optimization transforms how buildings operate.

Key capabilities:

  • AI-Powered HVAC Optimization - Machine learning algorithms analyze occupancy patterns, weather forecasts, and energy prices to create optimal heating and cooling schedules
  • Energy Management - Real-time monitoring and automated control to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort
  • IoT Device Control - Connect and manage sensors, actuators, card readers, cameras, and other IoT devices
  • Access Control - Support for OSDP v2 and Idesco card readers, and integrates with existing access control systems (e.g., 2N, Inner Range)
  • Protocol Support - Modbus/RTU, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, BACnet, and many more industrial protocols
  • Local & Cloud API - WebSocket local control and REST/WebSocket cloud connectivity
  • Video Integration - Connect up to 5 IP cameras for monitoring and AI-based occupancy detection

Installation

  1. Mount the controller on a DIN rail or any suitable distribution unit
  2. Connect network cable to RJ45 1 port (see Wiring Guide)
  3. Wire up inputs and outputs if needed (see Wiring Guide)
  4. Connect and switch on power supply
  5. Wait until LED2 turns steady green - system is running

Reset to Factory Defaults

  1. Press and hold RST button until LED2 goes steady orange
  2. Release the button and wait until LED2 turns back to steady green

Accessing the Controller

Finding the IP Address

By default, the baseMINI controller obtains an IP address automatically from your router (DHCP).

Browser Access

  1. Open a web browser (Firefox, Safari, or Chrome)
  2. Enter the controller's IP address or use mDNS hostname:
    http://larvaio-<serial-number>.local

    Example: http://larvaio-150b4c00-c0a9-11eb-8529-a453ee30011a.local

Note: mDNS requires operating system support (Linux with libnss-mdns, macOS, or Windows 10+)

Default Credentials

If this is the first time accessing the controller, use one of the default credentials:

UsernamePasswordRole
adminadminInstaller
sysmastersysmasterSystem Master

Important: Change the default passwords immediately after first login for security.

See System Users for details on role permissions.

Connecting to Fentrica Cloud

  1. Log in to the controller's web interface
  2. Navigate to the System tab
  3. Enable Fentrica Cloud connection
  4. Continue configuration via Fentrica Cloud

Once connected to Fentrica Cloud, you can:

  • Monitor energy consumption and savings
  • Configure AI-powered automation schedules
  • Manage devices and access control
  • View real-time dashboards and analytics
  • Receive alerts and notifications
